Rikers Island Jail Captain Accused Of Favoring Lil Wayne
A Rikers Island jail captain is under investigation for giving Lil Wayne preferential treatment.
The Rikers Island Correction Department is investigating accusations that rapper Lil Wayne is being given special treatment in jail.
The New York Post reports that Jail Capt. Latanya Brown was questioned by investigators for spending additional time with the rapper and allowing him to stay in his cell while other inmates were locked out of their bunks and ordered into the recreation yard.
The Correction Department reportedly has a zero-tolerance policy for preferential treatment. Brown has not released a statement regarding the matter.
This is the second controversy regarding an employee at Rikers and Lil Wayne, as a guard was fired in April for allegedly trying to sneak a peak at the rapper.

Less than 12 hours left to cast your vote for: NAS or JAY-Z in VIBE's Greatest Hip-Hop Song Tournament
Nas Or Jay-Z?: Welcome To VIBE's Greatest Hip-Hop Song Tournament!
Ok...so this has been a long - time battle that has since turned friendly..... check out the article below from Vibe Magazine - VIBE.com .... cast your vote for NAS or Jay-Z before midnight tonight (link is below article)***
We here at VIBE are all about results. So we refuse to allow disputed topics like Greatest Hip-Hop Producer Of All Time to live on without allowing you—our faithful readers—the chance to collectively slam the gavel. It's the reason we're following up the Greatest Producer (congrats again, Dre!) and Best Rapper Alive Tourneys with another vote-in competition for the masses: The Greatest Hip-Hop Song of the VIBE Era.
That's right, sons: We're asking you to vote on the greatest rap song (singles only!) since VIBE's inception in 1993. Call us insane (in the membrane), but we want solutions! So we rounded up the gang and deliberated on 17 years of music—everything from Busta Rhymes' "Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Can See" to Lil Wayne's "A Millie" was considered—until we agonizingly whittled to 33 of the dopest songs from all regions of the map.
Of course, 33 songs won't fit in a 32-song bracket, for which voting begins next Monday, Sept. 6. Which is where you come into play. The two songs that had us especially stumped came down to the undying battle of the Empire State—Jay-Z's "Hard Knock Life (Ghetto Anthem)" and Nas' "If I Ruled The World (Imagine That)," both rounding out the East Coast division. So we're asking you to kick off the preliminary round by voting on the final song to make the bracket. We'll unveil one region each day of this week, finally announcing Friday whether Nas' '96 masterpiece or Jay's '98 classic will take the East Coast's no. 8 amongst seven other bangers. Voting for Nas or Jay is a wrap come 12 a.m. Friday. Look out for the bracket announcements throughout the week!

| Article Courtesy of TMZ.com |
The honeymoon is over for T.I. and his wife Tameka Cottle as they were arrested last night and booked for the alleged possession of a controlled substance.
Law enforcement sources told TMZ ... T.I. and his wife Tameka "Tiny" Cottle were arrested because cops claim they found what appeared to be ecstasy in their car.
T.I. and "Tiny" were arrested on the Sunset Strip last night after making an illegal U-turn. Cops say they smelled marijuana, conducted a search and found a controlled substance.
... cops originally stopped the Maybach for making an illegal U-turn on Sunset Blvd.
Law enforcement sources tell us L.A. County Sheriff's deputies pulled over the multi-platinum selling rapper and his wife in a Maybach on Sunset Boulevard around 10:18PM. Deputies say they smelled marijuana.
When searching the vehicle cops found a controlled substance. Law enforcement sources tell us the controlled substance was not cocaine, but rather the class of controlled substance that triggered the arrest includes methamphetamines and ecstasy.
The couple just got married on July 30 in Miami, and T.I. -- real name Clifford Harris Jr. -- is on probation after doing seven months in prison on federal weapons charges.
Law enforcement sources say both T.I. and Tameka were booked on felony possession of a controlled substance.
T.I. and Tameka were released around 4:00AM on a 10,000 Bond......
T.I. was released from federal prison back in December -- where he served 7 months behind bars for illegally possessing machine guns and silencers. Law enforcement confirms ... T.I. is still on probation from the gun conviction, which means last night's arrest could qualify as a violation of his probation ... and he could be sent back to prison.

Raven-Symoné Dishes on the Brown Side of Disney
Article By Khadija Allen Courtesy of madamenoir.com - Follow on Twitter @MadameNoir
*The full-length animated feature film will be released on DVD and movie downloads – September 21, 2010.
Madame Noire: Can you tell us about the character you play in the new Tinkerbell film?
Raven-Symoné: I play Iridessa, a light fairy. She’s one of Tinkerbell’s best friends and she’s so sweet, grounded, and always trying to get Tinkerbell not to do these things. But in the end, she’s right with her to make sure she’s safe!
MN: What qualities do you share with your character?
RS: We are both loyal to our friends and both energetic and fun! But the difference is that I’m mostly the one saying hey, lets go see what’s behind that hill and I’ll wait over here instead of saying don’t go over there.
MN: Do you believe that Disney’s creations of Princess Tiana (“Princess and the Frog”) and your character Iridessa is the start of a new shift in animation as it relates to black characters?
RS: That is definitely a question for Disney. They’ve been waiting for the right story to tell to bring this nationality into effect. And let’s just see where this goes!
MN: What are some of your future aspirations as an actress?
RS: I’m going to be producing a lot more and finding roles that capture my age bracket truthfully as I grow up. But as I get older, I don’t want to scare my young fans to death. (laughs) But I do need to grow up in a way my mom will be proud of me.
MN: Bill Cosby has definitely been one of your greatest inspirations. What source of advice from him have you implemented in your career?
RS: Being professional and staying on time which means being 15 minutes early. And when I’m late, there’s no excuse – I wasn’t on-time! And treat people in production as if their paying your bills from the caterers to the lighting people to the makeup artists, directors, and producers. Everyone is there for a reason! If they weren’t there, they wouldn’t be hired so it takes a lot of people to complete these projects. And just because you’re the face of it doesn’t mean you’re the inner workings of it!
